I am going to install my 2 SYL-2813A gauges into a race car which will cause a lot off vibration. What is the best method to attaching wires to the screw terminals on the back of the gauge such that they will stay tightly connected in that harsh environment?

If a spade connector is the preferred method, what is the correct size spade I should look for?

Has anyone potted the back of the gauge to secure the wires and reduce the possibility of corrosion? Is there any negative affect on the gauge function?

You can use spade connector #6 for SYL-2813 gauge.

Unfortunately, I don't have much experience for your special setup. If your setup has high humidity, you may need to find a way to seal the whole gauge, or put this gauge in a sealed box. Your mentioned terminal issue is easy to solve. For example, you can use some water-proof silicone gel to seal the back terminals with cable connectors. But this gauge has hollow structural enclosure, so humid can still enter the inside of the gauge.
