I just received my BBQ controller that I will be using for my 22"WSM clone and I cant seem to get it to connect to the router.  I had the unit within 5 feet of it and its not picking it up.  I am also confused, following the video online showing the connection it never mentions how the unit connects to my phone.  do I need to bluetooth the SYL to my phone?

No, this controller doesn't have Bluetooth function. Please see the troubleshooting guide below for how to setup.

I've done everything and it's not working.  I turned off 5GHz on the router and made my network open, no security.  I reset my router and had to reconfigure it.  Now my Auber smart app autofills in the SSID but when I try connect it runs for a minute or something and then spits back "oops, connection failed.  Check your password and retype it and try again".   After I opened my network (so there is no password) is still says the same thing.  I want to stomp on this thing but I can't get my money back if I do.  I will go try at a friends house and see if it works there and it's just my router settings.  At this point I don't know what else to try.
