Doing a 120 volt 15 amp controller for a BIAB brew system with a PID.. Do I need a heat sink with a 40 amp SSR that feeds a 1650 watt element? Using a  Pbox16-D box.

Pbox16-D can handle up 20A heat, so for your 1650W heater (13.75A), you don't need extra heat sink. Please apply some thermal grease between the surface of the enclosure and the bottom of SSR.

40A SSR also works.

Great news, thank you. I originally made this years ago for small (2.5 gallon) BIAB electric system. I got cheap and used an old computer case for the controller. Everything worked great all these years but I never really liked the Computer case. So years later now I am making the controller smaller with some of the parts I used in the computer case.
