What would such a plug be useful for btw?

To plug the fan into the pid instead of plugging it into the wall but I admit, it's not really essential.

You can use the smoke generator power outlet with a "NEMA 5-15R to C14" adapter or adapter cable for under $5.   It would be a convenient place to plug in the Auber fan power supply, though you'd need to configure the "Relay Action" setting to be on all the time.  Setting it to 63 ensures it will be on for all 6 steps.  And you must have "Program Mode" set to "on" or the Relay Action feature is off. 

Don't forget that circuit is only rated to 3 amps.
