I'm following the build guide from the Electric Brewery using EZ Boil's. The build recommends an expensive timer (approx. $250). Since there are timer capabilities build into the EZ Boils, why do I need an additional timer? Also if I need an additional timer, is there an Auber timer that would meet the needs? Thank you!

Using the independent timer is allowing user to see set time and run time at the same time. Our EZboil has built in timer feature, but it will only show the current reading temperature & current timer alternately on the top display (DSPR120, when timer is enabled).
