PID Controller LED segments dead

My 7 year old PID now has what looks like dead segments on LED.
So, for example you  should guess between 9 and 0 as both bottom left vertical segment and the mid horizontal links are dead  .

Is it a controller issue or a display? Can display be easily replaced?

Sorry to hear that. Based on your description, this issue could be due to the broken soldering points on its circuit board, or bad LED display.

The PID controller used in coffee kit has compact design, and it is difficult to repair. This controller has four boards. One up and one down circuit boards. One front LED display board and one back board with screw terminals. In order to get access to the display board, you have to remove the back board and also top & bottom boards, and it will take you about 1 hour to do that.

It will be easy for you to contact Auber support for replacement parts.
