Couple questions,

I understand for the other 2 vents not used on the WSM that they need to be closed.  For the vent that the fan is installed on, do the other holes need to be taped?

Also, is the entire unit weather proof?  or does the controller and fan need to be protected from the rain?

For the bottom vent (the vent you installed the blower to it), you need to use high temperature tape (included in the kit) to seal the unused holes.

No, this control kit is not weather-proof. The blower is snap-in design, and it can be easily removed from the WSM. After you have finished the smoking, you can remove the blower from WSM, then store the controller, power adapter, temp probe, blower together in door.
