Hi There,

Have you had any reports of having issues pairing a SYL-2615 with the app?  In both cases I'm unable to get the device itself paired regardless of app or wifi settings.  I use Ubiquity wifi, which has a combined 2.4/5ghz AP.  To make  sure it's not an AP issue, I created a dedicated 2.4GHz network.

I read through all the docs, but do you have any tips on how to debug this?

Thanks.

Hi Scott,

Sorry to hear that. We haven't tested SYL-2615 with Ubiquity router, so it could be a compatible issue. The WIFI module of SYL-2615 has known compatible issue with EERO mesh router.

May I know the model number for your router?

If possible, please create a separate 2.4G wifi with different SSID name with different password. For security protocol, WEP works and WPA/WPA2 with TKIP works.

Another walk around solution is, you can connect a 2nd basic router to your Ubiquity, then setup this SYL-2615 controller to that 2nd basic router.

Thanks.  It's a Ubiquiti AC-Lite.  So far I've tried a separate 2.4GHz SSID with different name/password.  I'll give it a shot with something other than WPA2 and let you know.  I'll have to see about digging up another AP from another brand, but I should have something.

Stay tuned.

Sorry for the delay, I was hijacked by another project.  I tried the unit with an apple airport express and it worked instantly.  It seems there's also an issue with the Ubiquiti kit.  If you don't mind answering, what's the issue with the WIFI module you are using?  Maybe there's some configuration that can be done to work around it.

Did anyone find any solutions to this? I have a ubiquiti based network, and am having the same issue. This is the only device I have issues with, and I don't have another WAP around.

EDIT: My device is an SYL-3615, but same result. I am running a 2.4Ghz only network, using WPA2-PSK w/ CCMP. I have tried a number of different settings, all of the recommend "compatibility" settings but to no avail.

EDIT 2: Well this just gets weirder. The AuberWIFI app allows me to configure the device and it joins the wifi without any issues!

For SYL-2615 (which is discontinued already), you need to use app Aubersmart

For SYL-3615, you need to use app AuberWIFI.

Both apps have different pairing modes. Also, SYL-2615 has limited support for mesh routers. For walkaround solutions with SYL-2615 and mesh routers, please see guide here (section 4): https://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=42

SYL-3615 has no incompatible issues with mesh routers.
