Inty = P100
The old RTD measures 110 Ohms @ 23 C.

It appears that both RTD's behave similarly when installed.


I will check the resistance of the new RTD and get back to you.

First of all, I am sorry to hear that.

Can you remove the sensor from the controller and check the resistance of the RTD sensor?

Then, under code 0089, can you check what value you are using for Inty?

Thank you for your products.  I have been using your controller on my Sylvia since 2009.

I have a question, but first - some history:

The first PID controller I had lasted 10 years.  In 2019 I had to replace it as it would no longer function (a good run!).  The second controller has served me well since 2019 (~ 5 yrs).  Recently I noticed that my shots were not as hot, and the steady state temp seemed to fluctuate.  I assumed that the RTD sensor was bad, so I purchased a new one, which I installed.  I noticed the same issue.  I "calibrated" the RTD - It was of by -40 degrees F @ around 190 degrees F.  I now think the original RTD may still be good.

The shots seem better, but the steady state temp stille fluctuates by as much a 7 degrees F within as little as 10 seconds after reaching what should be steady state.  I have adjusted the following parms:

I am still seeing this temperature fluctuation - and think that the warmer the controller gets (the longer the machine is on), the less reliable the Psb setting.

Question:
I am wondering if there may be a defective discrete componnent like a cracked capacitor or resistor - or something (in the temp circuit) that I can replace in order to affect a repair?  If so, please advise.

IMHO you should have your firmware engineers rethink that process. Reconnecting to the network shouldn't require a full reboot of the controller in any situation. Interference is a thing to be dealt with reasonably. Don't treat it like a windows desktop you just reboot to solve any problem. I'm speaking this way as this is what I've done most of my career. If I simply rebooted to solve wired/wireless firewalls/vpn/tape library/disks/printers/typesetters/whatever I'd have been fired a long time ago.

So you are using safety start. When you cold start the setup, your timer will be on hold until your reading temp gets to 500.

You can set Hy1 and Hy2 back to the default (9999) to turn off safety start. So you can run the program normally.

For safety start, please see page 7, middle section on the right of its manual.

Also, you set AT to 0 and you are using on/off mode.

P-SL please confirm 100 or -100. It should be -100.

   I had bought a Brew In a Bag System Kit ( 240V AC, 30 Amp, 7200 Watt) (KIT-BIAB)
Probe Model # - PT100-L601/2NPT back in 08/2016.  I got my system running and working in early 2017.  The panel has worked well for me for many years.  I hadn't been brewing since late in 2019.  I have sold the brewing system and we are having some troubles with the panel.  Now some of it may be that I don't remember the exact intricacies of the PID, but we may need some help trouble shooting the panel as well.

   The PID appears to be set correctly (I think).  It shows the A-M PID light on and the OUT (PID) light is on if set to temperature or cycles on and off if set to percentage M mode.  But the element light is not lighting AND the heating element is not heating.  He has not opened the panel up yet, but when he throws the heater element switch ON you can hear the contactor. 

   Please, any help you can give is greatly appreciated!  This electric brewing panel has always served me well and I would hope it will serve the next owner well into the future.
